Why Germany Had to Start the War
In 1914, Germany gave Austria-Hungary the so-called 'blank cheque' that allowed it to declare war on Serbia and thus plunge Europe into the First World War.
This video aims to be a short analysis of why Germany and Austria felt desperate enough to undertake this radical course of action in 1914, whilst knowing there was a good chance of it leading to war.

That's technically true but the war was a matter of English manipulation, per usual and the facts matter. What we've read since is a one sided interpretation so, suspicious, when the 100th anniversary of the war happened, I began reading all the THICK TOMES about it and guess what kept popping up between the lines? PERFIDIOUS ALBION manipulating and trying to enter the war on false pretenses. It did so, see Belgium BULL treaty, and when it was over the world imposed everything upon GERMANY, it being the only Triple Alliance power LEFT. The evil results of this false punishment led to suffering and yes, HITLER, a demon dedicated to vengeance for Germany's foul post war representation and treatment. The same allied LIARS who punished Germany for THEIR collective sins also managed to sew the seeds for future Middle Eastern disaster. We see the results of the stupid English and French diplomats TO THIS DAY, as war followed war and added terroristic animalism to our world. Thank the evil British, the largest collection of manipulative history revisers EVER.

Well, Germany was jealous because they had a few colonies but they were nothing like the Empire, great Britain, Spain, France and the others have been and they wanted a piece of the pie and therefore they wanted to expand their land reach for one reason and they had just built up this incredible military, and it was their industrial age because Germany was a little bit behind

WW1 started because the oppressed German people were outraged by the arrival of the king of Serbia in Viena - parading as if to humiliate the oppressed Germans. the young Germans who, could not bear to live their lives in serfdom decided to sacrifice their lives and ( in their own home land ) kill the oppressor who openly belittled them and humiliated them. I hope the oppressed German people can somehow forgive us

Interesting video but you also have to look at the entente responsibility for starting the war. Russia mobilisation at the German border actually started WWI. Russia had no obligation to protect Serbia but they did. Poincare visiting Petersburg and showing support was the entente blank check. If Russia did not mobilise this would have stayed another regional conflict. The Russian intellectual circles who made theories about the destiny of Russia, the resilience of the Russian culture and why it was in a better position than other European nations pushed Russia to seek a war that would allow them to accomplish all the territorial ambitions of Russia (liberate the Slavs and control over the Bosphoris). At the end of the day the Central powers took a risk but the Russians wanted the war

"the special relationship" Special for the Americans to asset strip the UK it quickly became an abusive relationship for the British. as they became more and more reliant on the usa and closer and closer to becoming a satellite state, the anglospheres version of Belarus and Russia. The one saving grace maybe that the Australians and New Zealanders saw it too, and so maintain a greater sympathy fo britain simply to avoid such exploitation by the USA whist still maintaining a voice in the anglosphere, notice the new Australian Nuclear subs are to be based on the British ones not the American ones, its not just historical links behind this, they know Britain is a better friend than the USA will ever be and even if it weren't its not in a position to be so exploitative as the USA. We get our modern Submarines without the USA having us over a barrel. together with Britain we have a louder voice in talks with the USA than alone.

Germany didn’t have to start WW1. The country’s decision makers in 1914 assumed, wrongly, that the Entente was intent on destroying Germany. And they made that assumption because, had the roles been reversed, that is what they would have done. It didn’t help that for much of July they thought AH could bring Serbia to heel without sparking a war in the West. By the end of July some in the German Government were in panic mode, but there was also a sense of fatalism in Berlin during the final week.

Also why did the austria make a request of Serbia that they knew could not be fulfilled due to the constitution of Serbia. They wanted to go to Serbia and give the austrian police the power like they are the Serbian state police and that would undermine the sovereignty of the Serbian state and we would be nothing more then a colony. We accepted all the other 20 austians requests but they purposely put conditions no nation could accept and still be a sovereign state.

Fisher's plan would've ended up as another Gallipoli but in a cold climate. Battleships could be easily sunk by torpedoes and mines, land offensives moved at walking pace. But .. the strategic insight was sound. The Baltic was to Germany as the Atlantic was to Britain: a vital conduit for supplies. If the British Royal Navy had had a large number of diesel engined submarines then Fisher could have closed the Baltic to German shipping. The submarine was one of the few really effective offensive weapons in ww1 with counter measures only being developed towards the end of the war. But the admirals only thought of grand campaigns in terms of their beloved battleships ..
